Named after the migrating bird of the Nordic regions, Tern combines original music with innovative arrangements of traditional music from Scotland and Scandinavia, immersing audiences in a distinctly Nordic soundscape.
Tern is a 5-piece band consisting of Lea Søndergaard Larsen (DK - Bodhran), Rose Logan (SCO - Fiddle), Kristina Leesik (SE - Fiddle), Chris Amer (SCO - Guitar) and Dan Brown (ENG - Piano).
Terns' debut album Flyway celebrates the cultural interchange between Scotland and Scandinavia including traditional tunes as well as modern compositions. All of the music was selected and arranged collaboratively by the band. The music shifts focus between tone and texture, contemplative moods and bursts of energy, all encompassed in a deep search for voicing of place and the acknowledgment of the importance of traditional arts in the times we live in and the times yet to come.
